I’m originally from the DC suburbs but found my way to Westminster almost 30 years ago. I am a CCPS teacher, 26 years and feel teaching is a true calling for me. My husband and I enjoy powerlifting at Westminster Strength and Conditioning. I love to read and enjoy British TV shows! Walking my dogs is my most favorite, though.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family. Include your pets too!
I’ve been married to Jim for 19 years. I am one of 9 children 6 sisters and 2 brothers. I am #8. Jim and I have two dogs we rescued over 6 years ago, Nia Marie and Marissa
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes or lines in a song and why does it resonate with you?
The Story sung by Brandi Carlile. It reminds me of how my sisters took care of me and made sure I was ok. “I was made for you” they were put in my path to protect me.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am and will always be a teacher.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Smile whenever possible to everyone. It makes a big difference
Q: What are a couple of your favorite places or events in our community? What is something unique about our community?
We LOVE the Lost Lion and I particularly love the farmers marker. I love how both are people doing what they love and providing for the community. We also enjoy Fall Fest!
Q: What advice would you give to people living in Westminster or looking to move to Westminster?
It is a diverse community. Explore it all!
Q: What 3 words come to mind when you think of Westminster?
comfort, convenience, and community
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I think Westminster has really good public services from police to trash collection. We pay for if via taxes but it is worth it!

Traveling this country and maybe England.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people are surprised by my large family!
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My students!
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would probably ask a my former High School counselor. He pointed my in the direction I needed to go. Always grateful. We would go to the Lost Lion.
